MyStats Day 2021

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has declared World Statistics Day to be celebrated on 20th October 2010. Subsequently, the second World Statistics Day was celebrated on 20th October 2015 and since then has been celebrated every five years on the 20th October. Ever since its first celebration in 2010, the World Statistics Day in Malaysia has been celebrated with vast of exciting and engaging activities that involve various walks of life.

It was the year 2017 that marked the beginning of a proud moment for Malaysia where our very own National Statistics Day was declared. It has since then been celebrated annually on every 20th October.

The celebration of Hari Statistik Negara (HSN) was organised by Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) in the year 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 consecutively with variety of engaging programmes throughout the year.

HSN 2020 that was celebrated in conjunction with World Statistics Day 2020 was a meaningful and an unforgettable event for DOSM. It was during this year that the United Nations Statistics Commission (UNSC) introduced the new logo and slogan “Connecting The World With Data We Can Trust” which was also the year’s theme.

The spread of COVID-19 pandemic is posing a significant challenges and impacts to people around the world and also Malaysians. In this regard, the celebration of HSN 2021 will be held in the atmosphere of new norms and strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as gazetted by Majlis Keselamatan Negara and Ministry of Health Malaysia will be implemented.

Various activities will be adjusted by Headquaters and State DOSM accordingly to the strict SOP. Among those activities are StatsExecutive Talk, Parliamentary and DUN Stats Bulletin, Stats Quiz, Statistical Literacy Session and StatsPrihatin.
