This publication presents statistics for real estate services which obtained from the Annual Economic Survey 2022 for the reference year 2021. Real estate services include real estate activities with own or leased property and real estate activities on a fee or contract basis. 

In 2021, the gross output value for Real Estate Services was RM27.6 billion, decreased 11.4 per cent compared to the previous year (2020: RM31.2 billion). In line with the declined in the value of gross output, the value of intermediate inputs also recorded a decreased of 10.2 per cent to RM10.0 billion as compared to the 2020 (RM11.2 billion). This resulted a value added registered a negative growth of 12.1 per cent to RM17.6 billion in 2021 (2020: RM20.0 billion). The annual percentage comparison also showed a decrease in the number of employees by 1.3 per cent to 94,122 persons (2020: 95,394 persons). Meanwhile, the total salaries & wages paid in 2021 also experienced a decrease of 2.9 per cent to RM3.4 billion as compared to the pervious year (2020: RM3.5 billion). The value of fixed assets decreased by 4.4 per cent to RM83.3 billion compared to the year 2020 (RM87.2 billion).
